Bathroom remodel: Matching both style and functionality.

Maybe 2025 is the year you tackle that overdue bathroom remodel and are struggling to find the balance between style, affordability, and functionality. Thankfully, we’ve got some of our favorite products that match trends so you don’t have to compromise. Every great room first begins with a vision! Here are some of the leading trends going into the new year.

1. Natural elements. Natural elements are growing in popularity and replacing the traditional patterns such as bright white tiles, blue-shaded paint, and closed cabinet storage above the countertops. Instead, they are being replaced with organic, natural aesthetics such as wood-like tiles, stone basins, and earth toned (often green) paint. We’ve also seen an increase in open shelving, commonly known as floating shelves, which not only provide storage but style as they are often made of weathered wood. This natural environment is met with a variety of plants and open lighting, adding to the peaceful and natural atmosphere. The great fact about this trend is that it tends to be more affordable than the trends that preceded it. The minimalist nature of the natural elements helps you avoid needing to purchase excess decor or “eye catching” elements such as light fixtures, appliances, or accent rugs.

2. Textured Tiles. Textured tiles, including wall tiles, are in high demand because of their ability to add depth and contrast to your floors, walls, and tub/shower set- up.  This can still be accomplished through subway tile patterns that offer a variety of finishes and edges to add contrast. A great product we have in stock to accomplish this is FIBO. FIBO wall panels are a type of wall paneling system used in kitchens, bathrooms, or other wet areas as they are 100% waterproof. Made of high-pressure laminate, these panels mimic the look of traditional tile or wood, yet are much easier to maintain. We’ve installed this product even as accent walls in our offices and have loved the result. We carry it in a variety of colors, patterns, finishes, and textures so there will be sure to be one to fit the aesthetic of your space. One of the biggest advantages to FIBO is not just durability, but the affordability! Installation costs tend to run about ⅓ as much as traditional tile. Check out some of our favorite patterns below.

3. Bold, Dark Colors. Dark colors which you may have previously steered away from are now in- so don’t be afraid to pick out that navy, charcoal, forest green, or even black paint! This is mainly common on accent walls and paired with a lighter color for a bold look. This tends to accomplish a sophisticated, clean, and intimate atmosphere. Some have called it the “spa era” in which bathrooms are striving to mimic the relaxing atmosphere of a spa.
